A Seat At The Table

A new dawn, a new day, a whole new year, even.

2025 has arrived, and with it, a new era to MASQ – one set to, shall we say, unmask those who aren’t able to hang with the best.

But that’s not all that 2025 has brought. It has also brought cause for celebration. And where better to host such a celebration than one of the finest restaurants in all of Masqopolis?

La Guarida

One of the toughest places to get a table. Yet sat in a pristine booth, a near-empty wine glass in hand, is none other than El Padrino, dressed in a suit that’s only befitting of such an establishment.

“A refill?” Asks a waiter, a top shelf bottle held in his hands. El Padrino nods, setting his glass down to be filled.

“Thank you.” Padrino says, his tone soft, easy to comprehend. “Say, friend, do you mind if I ask you a question?” Asks The Don, the waiter immediately shaking his head. “I’ve heard there’s a rather interesting rumor going around, I wanted to see if you’ve heard if it was true or not.” The wine ceases its flow, and The Don grabs the glass once more. “La Leona Del Sol. Is she…” The Don trails off, but the waiter immediately catches on.

“Last I heard of it, her and Homewrecker are-” The Don raises a hand, cutting him short.

“Good lord, friend. I did not mean for you to tell me about her sex life. I meant if she was all healed up from her previous match.” The waiter’s mouth goes agape for a moment, before The Don continues talking. “Well, mentally, anyhow. Physically, I have no doubts she is prepared. but mentally? After what happened? You and I both know how much kittens like her hate getting wet. I’m sure it must have been traumatizing for the poor thing.” The Don shakes his head. “A shame she’ll have to be traumatized two matches in a row. First by being forced to take a bath, and now by being forever known as the luchadora who lost in the very first main event matchup in Unmasked history.”

Together, both the waiter and El Padrino share a laugh at the expense of La Leona Del Sol, before Padrino waves the waiter off.

“Hmm, good lad. I’ll be sure to give him a real nice bump to his next paycheque.” With that, El Padrino takes a sip of wine, as a portrait is shown, a framed image of The Don being shown inside of the establishment, describing his ownership to the world, all the while he enjoys himself a nice meal just days before claiming victory over a mere kitty laid in his path.

All in all, just another day in the life of The Don.
