It begins with El Masko in a chair in an empty room. He starts twiddling his thumbs as he begins speaking.
“Many people say El Masko just came into existence one day. No knowledge of his past. And for that part it’s true. El Masko doesn’t really know much about himself except the mask that is my face. So El Masko wandered around. Constantly El Masko found cheaters, thieves, and egotists step on others to get ahead. It was despicable, seeing the children look up to these people as the markers of success. So El Masko had a choice, be the change, or hide away forever. The second option was never really an option.”
He took a deep breath.
“The Holiday seasons, they were not the greatest. El Masko would see people fight and claw. Be disappointed. At a time when families were supposed to be together they seemed more at odds than ever. The snow was covered in blood far before this show was even conceived. El Masko knew he had to figure out some way to be an example. A symbol that everything would be fine if you followed the path of the right. And suddenly that beacon of light came down. MASQ opened their doors to El Masko and he knew that… It was the right choice from there.’
“Which brings me to you, Senor Wood. Neither Holly nor Jolly. Adorned with gold. You flash your cash around assuming that you can get your way. And sadly the fact of the matter in most cases”
He tugs at his Silver mask.
“But this holiday the bells are not Golden, they are Silver! They are telling the people huddling together with nothing to give but their own company. That there is something to look forward to. Something honorable looking out for them.”
“The metal of the title that we are fighting for does not matter. It is the metal of the soul that makes a man. And your self serving being does nothing for you except make you weakened against the elements. Makes the whole holiday a time for you to throw away your toys in a spoiled fit.”
“This is not one of those times, not at all. El Masko will walk in with his head held high. His spirits lifted and will say to you that, that championship. Will be the one material that you cannot possess. And it will only belong in the hands of someone who can lead by example. Lead the example of that it doesn’t matter what your pockets contain, what matters is how much your soul contains. And this soul contains the spirit of a warrior, the honor of a champion. And the ability to never stop until his final breath!”
